Vickie Echols and Robin Bryson Classes

Make your plans now and reserve your place in classes this September. Vickie Echols and Robin Bryson will be back in Idaho September 6 to 8, 2019. Liz Meyer is once again hosting the classes.  Classes are held in Liz’s shop at 72 N. Boundary, Nampa, ID. Prices include gourds—no need to buy/bring your own. Prices also include $5 for Liz to help defray her costs.

Payment guarantees your place in class. Right now, make your reservation by one of three ways: 1. complete and submit the form below; 2. email Liz at sunshinegourds@hotmail.com or 3. call Liz at 208-880-2632. ASAP mail your check(s) payable to the teacher, post-dated to September 1, 2019 to guarantee your place. Mail checks to Liz Meyer. If you are taking the September 8th class, make your check payable to Vickie Echols. She and Robin will handle the split.

Included in class: prepared gourd, glycerinated pine needles, raffia, stitching needle and a detailed tutorial that will be emailed after the class. Project is 5-6” diameter.

Description: You will learn how to work with raffia to create stunning stitches on your gourd basket. You will also learn many other pine needle coiling tips. The pine needles are glycerinated so they are gentle to your hands and they have greater flexibility.

What you need to bring: Needle nose pliers, good sharp sicissors and fine tip wire cutters. Bring a sack lunch.

Description: Create a breathtaking wood burned and ink dyed Eagle Wall Gourd Planter accentuated with pine needles around the rim with artificial plants.

Included in class: a cleaned out and ready gourd, pattern ready to transfer, tutorial, ink dye (white, black, brown and sage), Formula 49, micro brushes, pine needles, doll needle, wax linen, artificial plants.

What you need to bring: Temperature controlled wood burner with a rounded skew pen, face mask, protective eye wear, E6000 glue and small sharp scissors. Bring a sack lunch.

Description: For this collaboration class you will get 2 instructors for the price of 1! First, you will create a wonderfully carved starfish accented with filigree. You will use texture to give the feel of depth without deep carving. For the second half of the class you will learn how to add pine needles to the rim of your gourd and construct a lid for your basket using a prepared sea shell.

Included in Class: Includes prepared gourd, pattern, a tapered diamond bead reamer bit, tea light, glycerinated pine needles, prepared sea shell, Irish waxed linen, stitching needle and a detailed tutorial for the weaving portion that will be emailed after the class.

What you need to bring: For the carving portion: a carver with dremel bits (#116 speed cutter and #110 engraving cutter), fine files, dusk mask and eye protection. For the weaving portion: Needle nose pliers, good sharp scissors and fine tip wire cutters. Bring a sack lunch.
